文章一:
The Benefits to the Brain From Moving Your Body

The sad reality is that your brain shrinks with age. As we grow older, our memory, concentration, and focus can fade. Statistics show that every three seconds, somewhere in the world, a new patient is diagnosed with dementia.

Fortunately, there are many things you can do to enhance the brain’s good working status and to actually improve how well the brain functions as you age.

Exercise is key to brain health. Moving your body just makes sense. If you can consistently move your body to get your heart rate up for a minimum of 15 to 30 minutes per day, studies show that you can actually grow new brain cells. This all about oxygen and circulation.

Attempt to get your heart rate up to the point that you are sweating or slightly breathless. Studies show that exercise in the morning allows you to burn more calories, sets your day on the right track for higher production, and enhances mood, energy, and focus for the entire day.

More benefits of exercise are like:

- Exercise lowers inflammation, which is connected to body pain, fatigue, and autoimmune disorders, and dementia.

- Exercise is an extremely effective tool for managing and treating depression and anxiety.

- Exercise helps you control your eating, cravings, and overall weight as you age.

- Exercise regularly enhances deeper sleep at night; restoring your body and brain.

1. 根據本文,為避免「dementia」,「運動」是關鍵,尤其最好每天維持怎樣的運動型態?

文章二:
The Benefits of Seated Exercise

We know that staying sedentary can be a major risk factor for many diseases, but that doesn’t mean sitting is always a bad thing. Seated exercise is an effective form of exercise, whether for those that may have difficulty with standing exercises, or just those stuck at a desk looking for a quick way to burn a few extra calories.

Seated exercise can be beneficial for cardiovascular and respiratory health, help to strengthen muscles and improve balance, and alleviate joint pain and arthritis. Chair-based exercises have many of the same benefits as other forms of physical activity while being low-impact and gentle on the joints.

There are many resources for structured seated workouts. Do a web search for chair yoga, tai chi, and “take a seated break” videos to find the one that fits you best.

Seated exercises are convenient, easy to fit into a busy schedule, and can be done while watching TV or listening to music. You can do them with or without a partner, and they don’t depend on the weather or going to the gym. Select your favorite sturdy chair and indulge in aerobic, cardiovascular, joint, and muscle strengthening and let your furniture contribute to your overall health.
