【趣味英語】A mouth to feed 一張需要餵的嘴

這個說法非常能想像。想像一下，如果是一對小鳥夫婦，剛剛產下一窩小小鳥，小鳥爸爸需要每天都出去覓食，小小鳥就會跟媽媽留在鳥窩裡，等待爸爸帶食物回來。小鳥爸爸回來之後，要把食物放進每隻小小鳥的嘴裡，多一隻小小鳥，就是多一張需要餵飽的嘴。

所以a mouth to feed就是一個需要養活的人，一般是指新生兒。

例句：They’ve got three kids and her husband just lost his job- the last thing they need is another mouth to feed.他們已經有三個孩子了，丈夫最近還丟了工作，他們現在最不想要的就是又多了一個需要養活的人。◇
