文章一:Dangerous Trend Among Youth
Vaping is growing among teens and children too. An October 2022 study from the CDC found that 2.55 million middle and high school students reported e-cigarette use last year. More than one in four used them daily. The growing vaping trend among youngsters has triggered alarm bells given the potential negative impact it can have on their development. The e-cigarette industry came into prominence on the premise that vaping is a safer alternative to smoking regular cigarettes, a claim that has never been proven. In fact, a study published in February reported the opposite—that vaping can end up causing more damage than smoking actual cigarettes. The researchers found that vapers had 2.6 times more DNA damage compared to nonusers, while smokers had 2.2 times the DNA damage compared to nonusers. DNA damage to the oral epithelial cells lining the mouth is a change that is associated with a higher risk for several chronic diseases, including cancer.

文章二:4 Tips for Staying Hydrated
1. Drink Warm Water
Warm water is closer to body temperature and will not cause additional burdens on the body. Drinking either too cold or too hot water can easily aggravate the gastrointestinal tract.
2. Hold Water in the Mouth for a Moment Before Swallowing
When drinking water, keep it in your mouth for a while, and then swallow slowly. This will keep the water temperature closer to that of the mouth—not too cold or too hot. In doing so, it will also relieve dry mouth and bad breath and keep you from drinking too fast or too much.
3. Drink Tap or Mineral Water Rather Than Purified water
Purified water, such as reverse osmosis, distilled, and deionized are all treated, thus lacking in minerals required by the human body. If you drink purified water long-term, it will affect the balance of minerals in your body. The World Health Organization (WHO) issued a report “Nutrients in drinking water” in 2005, which listed six likely health hazards of drinking demineralized water, including damage to the intestinal mucosa. Purified water will take away the minerals in the food, which will easily lead to the lack of essential elements such as calcium, magnesium, and copper.
4. Avoid Drinking Ice-cold Water After Exercise
The traditional Chinese medicine classic, “Treatise on Febrile Diseases” (《傷寒雜病論》)pointed out that “after sweating, drinking a lot of water will cause panting, and irrigated with cold water will cause the same.” This means that after sweating heavily from exercise, sudden drinking of ice-cold water or taking a cold shower can cause difficulty in breathing.
